Children are so precious! Becoming a Court appointed Guardian ad Litem can be very challenging yet very benefical. At the end of the day, it is ALL about the best interest of the children.
As a Guardian ad Litem I have been appointed by the Court on relocation matters and paternity matters. Often parents are in a divorce battle and one of the parents decides to relocate back to his/her country or other state, be closer to his/her family, financial reasons, litigious reason or many other reasons that may not be in the child's best interest. The Court appoints a Guardian ad Litem to do a detailed investigation, interview collaterals and report what has been observed. Recommendations are included in the report.
If you are in the process of a divorce or have finalized your divorce and find at any point in time that there may be a need to appoint a Guardian ad Litem consult with your attorney, ask him or her what is best approach, discuss your concerns and call our office for more information.
